Swelling in lower legs, ankles and feet

This is an excellent summary of causes and treatments for this rather common condition. Particularly important is the guidance about when to seek medical attention. Swelling can indicate a major medical issue, but usually doesn’t. You need to know what your body is telling you.

  1. Mine swell every time I eat chips. I think I know the cure for that, but really love potato chips, so once in a while….
The usual cause is salt, but should always be checked out by a doctor, and the legs and feet elevated as much as possible. And this is a case of “do as I say, not as I do” for me, because I seldom take the time to elevate anything except my activities when my energy level is up enough to move.
