Mother Nature has decreed that there are too many humans on the planet. Americans have decided to help her along, with the largest year-to-year increase in homicides in the last 100 years.

As the lockdowns start and frustration builds, Americans start taking each other out. The blue line in the chart above veers up starting in April 2020, and only starts to subside into the fall.
2020 saw the largest jump in homicides year over year in the last 100 years of record keeping.
The only two states to see a decline in homicides were Maine and Alaska.
The District of Columbia led the nation in homicides. The “top” states for homicides were Southern: Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Maryland.
There have been a number of shootings in Las Vegas recently, and we were talking earlier today about why that has had no impact on tourism. The answer is obvious now — the rest of the country is just as messed up.
My comment: Ignorance and guns are a dangerous combination.
