TicTok Tics

This wild. There are videos on TicTok posted by people with tics — facial or facial and vocal uncontrolled actions that may be harmful to the person or others.

Now we have reports from a number of medical facilities of young women, aged between 12 and 25, for whom these videos can trigger complex tics. The tics can be sufficiently severe as to interfere with education, and even in some cases require hospitalization. The risk seems higher if the victim or family member also suffering from tics (e.g, Tourette’s)
