CNA Financial, parent of CNA Casualty, is the latest insurer to announce being a victim of ransomware. The guys who hit Colonial Pipeline must be embarrassed. They only got a little over $4 million in ransom. CNA paid ten times that — $40 million.
We have enshrined ransomware as the road to riches. Now how can insurers deny claims from clients when they are shelling out for themselves? (They will try, of course.)
